Dr. Rev. William R. Greaver III, Psy.D

Dr. Greaver holds a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from the Graduate Theological Foundation (GTF) in Mishawaka, Indiana. GTF is an affiliate of Oxford University, England. Rev. Greaver is a Lutheran and has been an ordained pastor for over 20 years earning a Master’s of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) and ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). He is also a Congregationalist and currently a rostered clergy of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC) since 2010.
Dr. Greaver has been active in Social Work & Family Systems for over 30 years. and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Social Work and a Bachelor’s of Psychology from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota. His chaplaincy experiences began over 30 years ago while taking a unit of pre-Clinical Pastoral Education at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. He has also been a Civil Air Patrol Chaplain for 3 different Squadrons in 3 different states. He has also worked in Chaplaincy for the homeless in 5 states. He was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force - Reserves where he served as a chaplain.
Chaplain Greaver has worked in the field of hospital, industrial, prison, jail, palliative care, first response, crisis, trauma, nursing home, Barnabas, mental health, and homeless chaplaincy. He teaches courses in Clinical Pastoral Psychotherapy, Spiritual Direction, First Response, and Critical Incident Stress Management.
Dr. Greaver is a Board Certified Clinical Chaplain with the Center for Spiritual Care and Pastoral Formation (CSCPF). He holds Board Certification as a Chaplain with the Spiritual Care Association. He is also a CPE Supervisor for the Center for Spiritual Care and Pastoral Formation, the Institute of Clinical Pastoral Training, and the organization Clinical Pastoral Education International.
Dr. Greaver is a Commander for the Spiritual Care Association First Response Chaplain Division. He also assists with the SCA Corporate Chaplain Division He also serves as the Senior Pastor of First Congregational Church of Tacoma, WA. He is also a Certified Chaplain with the National Institute of Business and Industrial Chaplains.
He is a Certified Crisis Chaplain with the National Center for Crisis Management and a Certified Chaplain with the International Alliance of Chaplain Corps.
He has taught CPE units with ACPE, CPSP, and CSCPF. He has experience as a chaplain that goes back over 30 years and has been teaching Pastoral Care in some form for over 30 years as well.
